Charged and Repaired My Car Battery, Saved Money
sunaptein· Review provided by repco.co.nz · November 8, 2024
This product worked for me, and has for hundreds of others.

The staff at Repco did not have this product on their shelf or believe that it worked.

Thankfully, I had read reviews about the Noco Genius 10 everywhere that said what this product does and had confidence to ask them to get one from out the back of the shop and sell it to me. Even though the staff said it would not charge my battery and recommended I buy a new battery. Buying the Noco Genius 10 was cheaper than a new battery, and means my battery now works and will last longer.

I followed the instructions and got the result others have:

1. Connect to battery as per instruction manual (red positive then black negative for our car - positive earth is most common, but check your battery in case it is earthed on the negative terminal)

2. Fully charge my 12v car battery on the 12v setting (took around 30 min which indicated that my battery had low capacity for it to reach fully charged status so quickly)

3. Repaired the same battery overnight on the 12v Repair setting (charger showed pulsing red light at first, then showed inactive state in the morning indicating it had completed the repair process successfully).

4. Disconnect battery as per manual (black negative then red positive for our car - positive earth is most common, but check your battery in case it is earthed on the negative terminal)

[Rewarded Review] It works, especially the dead battery repair mode

Welp, I got this to replace my old trickle charger (that I damaged by putting it on a hot exhaust manifold for too long, lol). I have an old beater car that I don't drive much, and it has a parasite drain that has killed more than one battery. I figured I'd spend a bit extra on a "smart" charger with lots of modes (I have a couple of AGM batteries in other applications) and this one seemed to fit the bill. Well, it seems like this charger brought back my beater car's battery using repair mode (does some desulfation thing and I guess one or two other electrical tricks). Two weeks ago I ran it on the full repair cycle and then drove the car for a grocery run. Been out of the house until today and decided to try the beater, she fired right up. Same battery six months ago, if I'd let it sit for two weeks like that then it would have just enough juice to run the radio and the door ajar ding ding alarm, but turning the key to start would only give the solenoid click-click-click (if you're a gearhead then you know...).
Best value in Noco Range of Chargers

Bought this during SC Boxing Day Sale, was initially looking at the 5 amp version but the 10 amp was a no brainer at the sale price.
This has repaired and fully restored two lead acid batteries; one from a old BMW and the other from my daughter's vehicle.
I was a little concerned at first as it seemed to take a while to diagnose the status of the batteries but after that, it charged them both in less than 24 hours.
Its fully automatic and will continuously monitor the charging process even if left connected at full charge.
It's fast and can also be used as a trickle charger and also 12v power supply. Anything more powerful than this will basically just do the job faster hence the NOCO 10 is the sweet spot in the range.
It'll charge 6-12V batteries and is very easy to use.
Its small and the leads are a good length enabling appropriate placement of the charger.
It also has a repair mode which takes up to 4 hours, great feature which helps to ensure the batteries can accept and retain a full charge.
Wish it came with a case, even-though I highly recommend it and will save many on buying a new battery unnecessarily.
Thanks to the staff at SC Bacchus Marsh for their recommendation!
[Rewarded Review] Solid product, very compact but has serious issues.

Tested this on truck batteries and motorcycle batteries works fine with some minor annoyances.

The truck AGM battery I left it running for 45 minutes, at the end of it the charger was so hot I almost burnt my hands when I picked it up. The quick disconnect that various accessories connect to was incredibly hot, I had to wear gloves to touch either one without injury to myself. The clamps were cold to the touch, the wires themselves were warm.

No heat problems on smaller batteries like the motorcycle or atv stuff.

There is a serious design problem in this unit! When you see conductors heating up they are pulling more amperage than the wires and conductors are designed for (also poor continuity can cause this too). If it got any hotter it would probably catch on fire or melt.

The units functions are all tied to one button, if the button fails then your unit is toast.

I've talked to other owners and some say the company exchanged theirs for these symptoms but it did not fix it.
